The third event in this season’s CrossGuns Junior Series, sponsored by SnookerHQ and The Billiard Co., took place Saturday last at CrossGuns Snooker Club in Dublin.
The winners on the day were John Joyce in the Under-14 section and Aaron Holland in the Under-19s.
The standard of snooker on display in both events once again was of a very high standard and all matches were played in a great sporting manner.
In the U-14 event John Joyce returned to the top of The Billiard Co. player of the year ranking list by winning his second event – defeating fellow Classic SC player Jack Sheridan in the final.
Meanwhile, after missing event 2, Aaron Holland returned to the fray and hardly put a foot wrong throughout the day.
He played some exceptional snooker on his way to wining the U-19 section which included a 2-1 semi-final victory over Andrei Blondu – who had gone undefeated in the series up until that point.
Holland’s last opponent Sean O’Toole did not drop a frame en route to his first final of the season but fell short against a very in-form Holland.
Aaron Holland also had the highest break of the day, a 66 in his last eight encounter with Kyle Meleady.
Once again, I would like to thank all the juniors for braving the inclement weather last Saturday and for supporting the Junior Series.
Event 4 will now take place on Sunday, 6th December beginning at 12pm.
