Anthony McGill emerged victorious from Group Two of the Championship League on Thursday in Coventry.
Welshman Ryan Day was again the victim in the final, losing 3-0 to McGill after previously being halted at the same stage of Group One on Tuesday.
McGill only just scraped out of the round-robin phase with three wins out of six, but dropped only one frame in the knockouts.
In the last four the Scot overcame table-topper Neil Robertson 3-1 before a brace of tons in the final eased him to a comfortable triumph over Day.
The Indian Open champion will now move forward into the Winners’ Group in March alongside David Gilbert, where the overall champion will gain an invitation into the lucrative Champion of Champions.
Day, beaten semi-finalists Robertson and Mark Davis, and fifth place Mark Williams, who had the highest break of the event with a 136, will have another chance to qualify during Group Three next week.
They will be joined by newcomers Joe Perry, Ali Carter and Barry Hawkins as Matthew Selt and Michael White are eliminated.
