The snooker is coming thick and fast these days and there’s no stop in sight between now and the Christmas period.
The International Championship is in progress at the moment with the last 16 in action on Wednesday in a quiet Daqing, while upcoming tournaments this month include the Champion of Champions, Shanghai Masters, and Northern Ireland Open.
Usually, the quizzes here are saved for when there’s a bit of downtime but these decade-by-decade teasers have proven to be so popular that it would be rude not to complete the set.
The 1980s is probably as far back as we’ll go with this series on SnookerHQ but, with more than 1,300 plays from the first three quizzes, which were based on the 2010s, 2000s, and 1990s, there might be an argument to be made for bashing out some part twos later this season.
For now, though, the question is, how well do you know snooker from 1980 to 1989?
Hello, This is a great quiz. However, one of the questions isn’t quite right. With the question: “Dennis Taylor won the 1985 World Championship. No, really! But what was Steve Davis’ lead after the first session of the final?” The correct answer is 7-0, whereas the quiz has the answer of “8-0”. It’s correct that Steve David led 8-0. However, the first session of the 1985 world final was only seven frames. Here David led 7-0 and he went to 8-0 on winning the first frame of the second session, before Taylor began his fight back.
