John Higgins and Luca Brecel will clash in the second of the Tour Championship semi-finals on Saturday in Llandudno.
The fixture represents a repeat of the Scottish Open final from earlier this season, when Brecel emerged as the winner.
On that day, the Belgian Bullet dominated the affair to prevail with a 9-5 scoreline, and with it a second career ranking title.
That success, coupled with his terrific run to the final of the UK Championship a week earlier in December, were the reasons Brecel was able to qualify for the prestigious Tour Championship for the first time.
The 27 year-old hasn’t buckled at the opportunity so far and produced a strong display to overcome Judd Trump 10-6 in the first round.
Higgins, meanwhile, fought back from 8-4 down to deny top seed Zhao Xintong in a decider despite playing nowhere near his best snooker.
The Scot, who was also the runner-up in the Northern Ireland and English Opens this term, is attempting to land £150,000 windfalls for the second week in succession.
That is the lucrative sum on offer for the champion at the Venue Cymru, but Higgins already won the same amount by claiming the European Series bonus last week.
Despite losing their most recent tie, Higgins boasts a superior head-to-head record over Brecel and will be the favourite again here.
Both players are battling for the right to reach Sunday’s final, with Australian Neil Robertson already waiting in the title-deciding bout.
The defending Tour Championship winner emerged from an epic encounter with Ronnie O’Sullivan in the first of the semi-finals that went all the way to a deciding frame on Friday.
