Snooker at the Morningside Arena will continue for another three days with the qualifying stage of the English Open draw.
The preliminary phase of the Wuhan Open has just finished at the same venue in Leicester.
But there’s more qualifying action to come between Wednesday and Friday, as the build up to the opening Home Nations event of the season begins.
The matches taking place over the next few days are effectively first-round fixtures from the round of 128.
As usual, a number of games mostly involving the higher-profile players have been held over to the venue stages next month.
All of the top 16 from the world rankings, including Ronnie O’Sullivan and Luca Brecel, have had their encounters deferred to Brentwood.
Reigning English Open champion Mark Selby and this season’s two ranking event winners Shaun Murphy and Barry Hawkins have similarly had their matches held over.
Although not a member of the top 16, Elliot Slessor will play his tie at the Brentwood Centre too as he awaits the winner of the pre-qualifying showdown between amateur wildcards Ryan Davies and Bradley Cowdroy.
For the remaining pros on the main tour, they’ll be hoping to safely negotiate their English Open qualifying tests in the draw this week.
Among those scheduled to feature are 2018 champion Stuart Bingham and 2019 runner-up David Gilbert.
Live coverage is available on discovery+ in Europe and Matchroom.Live in other territories (other than China).
Matches in the English Open qualifiers draw will take place over the best of seven frames.
This year’s tournament, which is sponsored by betting company BetVictor, boasts a total prize fund of £427,000 and a top prize worth £80,000.
