Wuhan Open: 2024 qualifiers draw, schedule, results

The Wuhan Open qualifiers run from Sunday, July 28th to Tuesday, July 30th at the Mattioli Arena in Leicester.

The Chinese ranking event is back on the calendar for a second successive year after making its debut in 2023.

Judd Trump won the inaugural edition by beating Ali Carter 10-7 in the final at the Wuhan Gymnasium.

The Englishman, who has already got the new campaign off to a positive start by claiming last week’s Shanghai Masters title, is one of several players who have their preliminary matches held over to the venue stages.

Trump faces Antoni Kowalski in the opening round of the competition, but his encounter against the Polish rookie has been deferred.

Among the others who have had their round-of-128 encounters delayed are world champion Kyren Wilson, Ronnie O’Sullivan, and Ding Junhui.

Williams has pulled out as you predicted. He’s been replaced by Joshua Thomond. Robbie McGuigan has it tough to reach round two as you’ve got him down to play both Ding and Ronnie!

I was listening a few days ago to Antoni Kowalski on the Framed podcast. He comes across as very bullish and unafraid of reputations.
