Full list of results at the German Masters qualifiers

The qualifiers for the German Masters concluded on Thursday with 32 players joining next month’s main draw in Berlin.

The top 32 players from the official world rankings list already enjoyed seeding through to the venue stages at the Tempodrom.

But the remaining contenders first had to attend the preliminary phase of the 2024/25 season’s 12th ranking event this week in Sheffield.

Among the players who safely advanced from the German Masters qualifiers was 2018 runner-up Graeme Dott, who comfortably beat Xing Zihao with a whitewash display.

Fellow former world champion Ken Doherty also made it through, the Irishman winning his first two games of the campaign with back-to-back deciding-frame victories over Oliver Lines and Jordan Brown.

Proven ranking event winners Ricky Walden, Dominic Dale, and Anthony McGill progressed as well in addition to Fan Zhengyi, Thepchaiya Un-Nooh, and Jimmy Robertson.

There was disappointment for Lei Peifan, however, who immediately came crashing back down to earth following his shock success at last week’s Scottish Open – losing 5-3 to Allan Taylor.

Former German Masters champion Anthony Hamilton’s 5-2 defeat to Cheung Ka Wai means that the 53 year-old’s provisional end-of-season ranking stands at a lowly 65.

Only the top 64 are guaranteed tour survival, putting the Sheriff’s near 34-year career as a professional in jeopardy.

In an even worse situation is Joe Perry, who is languishing way down at number 76 on the provisional end-of-season standings after losing 5-4 to Ross Muir.

Elsewhere, recent Snooker Shoot Out runner-up Liam Graham won his two qualifying bouts 5-4 having at one stage trailed Ma Hailong 4-0 in his initial fixture.

Reigning women’s world champion Bai Yulu and all-time legend Reanne Evans won their round-of-128 ties but fell at the following hurdle to Yuan Sijun and Joe O’Connor respectively.

The full list of results at the German Masters qualifiers is below.

The 2025 German Masters runs from January 27th to Feburary 2nd at the Tempodrom in Berlin.

  1. Matt Selt stormed off after his loss to Zizins, even telling the referee to shut up. He did however, enjoy the small consolation of making his 200th career century in the match.
