Massive 147 bonus opportunity to return this season

Compiling a brace of 147 breaks at the major events during the 2025/26 snooker season will bring with it a huge reward.

Back for the third season in a row, the maximum break bonus will see a £147,000 prize given to any player who can make two 147 breaks at the biggest tournaments throughout the campaign.

Last season, Jackson Page memorably became the first person to collect the jackpot – in incredible fashion too.

The Welshman made both during his World Snooker Championship qualifying match against Allan Taylor in April, simultaneously becoming the first player ever to compile two 147 breaks in the same match.

The World Championship, the UK Championship, and the Masters will continue to provide opportunities for the players to strive for the 147 bonus.

For the first time, however, the Saudi Arabia Snooker Masters will also be added to the list of major tournaments affiliated to the lucrative scheme.

The megarich ranking event, which gets under way in Jeddah on Friday, was launched last year and has since been hyped as the sport’s fourth major title.

The 147 bonus

Counting events during the 2025/26 snooker season

Saudi Arabia Snooker Masters: August 8-16, 2025
UK Championship qualifiers: November 22-27, 2025
UK Championship main event: November 29 to December 7, 2025
The Masters: January 11-18, 2026
World Championship qualifiers: April 6-15, 2026
World Championship main event: April 18 to May 4, 2026

Players need to make two maximums (either 147 or 155) across these four tournaments, and up to three players could win this bonus.

For example, if three different players each make two 147 breaks, they would each pocket the £147,000 sum.

If one player can make six maximums across the four events, then a whopping £441,000 would be banked.

Page, who used the money to help launch his new trading card and collectibles shop, said: “I’ll be going for it again this season.”

“The feeling when I potted the last black of the second 147, I can’t describe how that felt. It was an incredible buzz.

“It is life-changing money but also the feeling of achieving something that no player had done before.

“It definitely brings extra excitement to each tournament, and I’m sure a lot of players will have an eye on 147 chances in Jeddah.”

The bonus would be awarded in addition to the high break prizes for the individual events.

In addition to Page, three other players recorded two 147 breaks during the most recent 2024/25 campaign.

Mark Allen made one at the British Open and a second at the World Championship, Shaun Murphy’s double transpired at the Masters and the World Open, while Xu Si constructed his perfect breaks at the International Championship and the Welsh Open qualifiers.

The trio unfortunately couldn’t avail of the huge bonus with one or both of their efforts devised away from the counting major events.

Yet it does underline the potential for the 147 bonus to be claimed again during the new season, particularly now there are four tournaments to do it in.
