Qualifying action returns this week with the preliminary phase of the Scottish Open draw taking place in Wigan from Tuesday.
The Home Nations Series began last month with Mark Allen triumphing at the English Open in Brentwood.
Next week, the second Home Nations Series event of the 2025/26 snooker season will see the Northern Ireland Open return to Belfast.
But before that over the coming few days, the opening couple of rounds of the Scottish Open will be conducted at the Robin Park Leisure Centre.
Who is playing in the qualifiers?
As has become the norm with the Home Nations Series tournaments, the top 32 players from the official world rankings list have been seeded through to the venue stages.
The rest of the World Snooker Tour professionals and a few amateur top-ups will be attempting to join them in Edinburgh across the next four days.
Players seeded from 65 to 128 in the draw will enter the Scottish Open qualifiers in the opening round.
That includes the likes of Jimmy White and Ken Doherty who each meet Iulian Boiko and Ross Muir respectively.
Record 12-time women’s world champion Reanne Evans faces Jiang Jun while reigning queen of the game Bai Yulu is in action against Kreishh Gurbaxani.
The list of early entrants also includes Sam Craigie, Mink Nutcharut, and Liam Pullen – the latter with confidence high after reaching the quarter-finals of the recent Xi’an Grand Prix in China.
Those seeded from 33 to 64 will enter the fray in round two of the qualifying competition, duly facing the winners from round one.
Luca Brecel and Ryan Day are prominent names involved here with the experienced pair having slid down the rankings of late.
British Open runner-up Anthony McGill and Scott Donaldson are among the Scottish contingent attempting to qualify for their home event on the calendar.
The likes of Ricky Walden, Matthew Stevens, Thepchaiya Un-Nooh, and Aaron Hill are other familiar names who will be hoping to secure their spots at the venue stages.
All the latest snooker betting odds will be listed on the BoyleSports app which also has a Boyle Casino list of online games to enjoy.
The venue stages for the 2025 Scottish Open, meanwhile, are scheduled for December 15th to 21st at the Meadowbank Sports Centre.
