Liam Pullen compiled the 2025/26 snooker season’s 15th maximum 147 break as the 2025 UK Championship qualifiers got going in Wigan on Saturday.
The young Englishman thumped Kaylan Patel in the first round at the Robin Park Leisure Centre, making a maximum break in the sixth frame en route to a 6-1 victory.
With the total number of 147 breaks for the ongoing campaign now at 15, it already equals the record for a single term that was just set during the most recent campaign.
Considering there is still half of the calendar to be played out, the record looks like it is going to be absolutely smashed as players on the main tour continue to demonstrate their scoring ability.

It was a very busy day of action with 22 matches in total being contested in what is the road to the Barbican Centre in York.
Only 16 competitors from the 128 who are entering the preliminary phase will be able to join the top 16 seeds at the venue stages of the prestigious Triple Crown event next week.
Former UK champion Jimmy White was beaten by a player aged 49 years his junior, with 14 year-old Polish star Michal Szubarczyk once again highlighting his potential with a 6-2 defeat of the veteran legend.
Marco Fu, however, returned from injury to successfully see off the challenge of his Hong Kong compatriot Ng On Yee.
Reanne Evans and Bai Yulu both advanced in the competition after securing respective victories over Peter Lines and Mostafa Dorgham.
Among the amateurs who were invited to make up the numbers, former world seniors champion Igor Figueiredo thrashed David Grace 6-1 and Jamie Clarke edged Lan Yuhao with a 6-4 display.
Elsewhere, there were a few deciding-frame thrillers with Cheung Ka Wai launching an incredible fight back from 5-1 down to deny Florian Nuessle.
Mateusz Baranowski also produced a Houdini act as he edged Sahil Nayyar 6-5 having required three snookers in the 11th frame.
It was a lot easier for the likes of Steven Hallworth, Ian Burns, Chris Totten, Dylan Emery, Connor Benzey, and Huang Jiahao.
There were also wins for Liam Graham, Ross Muir, Bulcsu Revesz, Xu Yichen, Iulian Boiko, Liu Wenwei, and Hatem Yassen.
Liam Highfield and Haydon Pinhey are into the next round too after receiving walkovers from their scheduled ties against Alexander Ursenbacher and Mohammed Shehab.
The UK Championship qualifying event follows the same format as the one in use for the World Snooker Championship.
The lowest seeds enter in round one and will need to win four matches in total to reach the last 32 and the main tournament.
The players ranked from 49 to 80 join in round two before round three sees the remaining contenders seeded from 17 to 48 enter the fray.
That will include a lot of the heavier hitters including the likes of Jack Lisowski, Stuart Bingham, Luca Brecel, Stephen Maguire, and Ali Carter.
On Sunday, the first round concludes with former runner-up Ken Doherty and women’s world number one Mink Nutcharut in action.
The second round will then begin during the afternoon session.
