How the quarter-final draw looks at the 2026 German Masters

A high-quality lineup of players is still in the 2026 German Masters draw, who each remain in the hunt for glory in Berlin.

All eight contenders are proven ranking event winners, with more than half representing former world champions of the sport.

The competitors have already won £13,200 for reaching the quarter-finals, but the possibility of landing the £100,000 top prize is now coming into view.

Let’s take a look at the four ties from the last eight in what is the season’s 12th ranking event.

Kyren Wilson vs Shaun Murphy

A battle between the two most recent Masters champions pits last week’s winner Kyren Wilson against the player he lost to in the 2025 Ally Pally final, Shaun Murphy.

Wilson, also the reigning German Masters champion, has coasted through his early rounds with victories against Robert Milkins, Anthony McGill, and Zhang Anda.

It has been straightforward for Murphy too, the Magician securing routine victories over Zak Surety, Julien Leclercq, and a surprisingly one-sided 5-0 drubbing of Mark Allen.

The German Masters is a tournament that Murphy has openly admitted is near the top of his list of ones to win, especially considering its trophy honours his old manager and friend Brandon Parker who passed away in 2020..

Murphy boasts a far superior head-to-head record against Wilson and has won their last five encounters, but the latter is the player in form at the moment.

Jimmy Robertson vs Neil Robertson

As the world number 34, Jimmy Robertson represents the lowest-ranked competitor still in with a chance of raising the silverware aloft on Sunday.

The Englishman has reached his first ranking quarter-final since 2024 with impressive triumphs over Mark Williams and Jak Jones.

Next up will be Neil Robertson – no relation, of course – with the Australian having got to this point with defeats of Pang Junxu and Ishpreet Singh Chadha.

Considering Neil’s success in the game, it’s perhaps surprising that he has never added the German Masters crown to his list of achievements – his best a run to the final in 2020.

This showdown of Robertsons has transpired ten times in the past, with the Thunder from Down Under prevailing on eight occasions.

Neil Robertson is the third favourite in the outright betting market for the German Masters with odds of 9/2, and the 1xBet English version features more snooker odds on the latest tournaments.

Judd Trump vs Xiao Guodong

Judd Trump is bidding to capture the German Masters title for a record-extending fourth time, and this is the 11th time since 2012 that he has reached the quarter-finals.

Trump was in fine scoring form against Ryan Day in the last 32 – compiling a hat-trick of century breaks against the Welshman – but had to scrap for his 5-2 victory over Si Jiahui in the last round.

Up next for the world number one is Xiao Guodong, who has impressed again with solid victories over the likes of Jack Lisowski and John Higgins.

Xiao has firmly established himself as a top 16 player and his involvement at the business end of tournaments is no longer a surprise.

Trump, though, will obviously be the favourite to progress here and he has a commanding advantage from their head-to-head, winning 11 of 13 outings in all competitions.

Ali Carter vs Stuart Bingham

Ali Carter certainly does love a trip to the Tempodrom, with the Captain through to the quarter-finals for the fifth time in his career.

Of the previous four appearances, the Captain has proceeded to reach the final on three occasions before twice then etching his name onto the trophy.

Indeed, Carter is one of three multiple former German Masters champions who are still in the draw at the quarter-final stage.

Stuart Bingham will be his next opponent, the 2015 world champion returning to form this week with victories over Scott Donaldson and Tom Ford.

Bingham, however, suffers from an inferior head-to-head record against Carter and, in fact, has lost to his fellow Essex man the last five times they’ve crossed paths on the main tour.
