Si Jiahui’s Snooker Career

A teenage Si Jiahui initially found life on the main tour difficult after turning professional in 2019, dropping off the circuit after his first two seasons. However, he quickly returned after emerging successfully at the 2022 WSF Championship, the prestigious international tournament representing a global pathway onto the pro scene.

Si’s career trajectory changed dramatically thereafter, and at the 2023 World Snooker Championship he announced himself as a competitor with star quality. Entering the event as a qualifier, he produced a series of composed performances at the Crucible Theatre to reach the semi-finals, becoming one of the youngest players of the modern era to progress that deep into the tournament.

Although he was defeated by Luca Brecel at the semi-final stage, the run established Si as a genuine contender for titles and propelled him rapidly up the world rankings. Si continued to build on that breakthrough during the 2024 calendar year, reaching the final of the German Masters and later finishing runner-up at the Wuhan Open.

These results helped to secure him a place among the top 16 in the world rankings and a first Masters appearance followed in 2025, confirming his ability to perform under the sport’s most intense spotlight. While a first ranking title has so far remained elusive, Si has underlined a growing consistency that has positioned him as one of the leading young players of his generation.
