See Live Snooker for Free

The best snooker players on the planet will be back at the Barnsley Metrodome in the coming months and fans can watch them play for free.

The qualifying rounds of world ranking tournaments were staged at the South Yorkshire venue for the first time last season, with green baize kings including Ronnie O’Sullivan, Judd Trump, John Higgins, Mark Selby, Neil Robertson, Steve Davis and Jimmy White among those competing.

And once again World Snooker will be giving away free tickets to fans for the Shanghai Masters Qualifiers, from August 12 to 15.

To reserve tickets call 01226 730060 or collect them in person at the Metrodome.

A spokesman said: “Giving fans the chance to watch many of the world’s top stars for free is our way of saying ‘thank you’ to all of snooker’s supporters in Yorkshire. It’s also a great chance for anyone who has never seen the sport live to find out what it’s all about.

“We’re delighted to be bringing top class snooker back to the Metrodome, which proved an excellent venue last season.

“The Shanghai qualifiers could see legends like Jimmy White and Ken Doherty as well as up-and-coming talents including local youngsters Joel Walker and Oliver Lines in action. Come along and watch the sport played at the highest level.”

The draw and playing schedule will be available on www.worldsnooker.com after the seeding cut-off in July.

The following month, the Metrodome will also host the Indian Open Qualifiers from September 18-21 and the International Championship Qualifiers, September 22-25. Tickets for those events will be available in July – for details see www.worldsnooker.com/tickets.
