The RIBSA Masters, the fifth senior ranking event of the Irish season, takes places this weekend at the Ivy Rooms in Carlow.
Again, a relatively low number of players have entered the tournament with only 41 due take part.
Of these participants, Rodney Goggins will be hoping to consolidate his lead at the top of the rankings following his victories in the RIBSA Classic and Premier Cup earlier in the campaign.
Nenagh native Brendan O’Donoghue is the nearest challenger having tasted success in event two but there’s a sizable 90 points between himself and Goggins, with 150 up for grabs for an event winner.
The pair are seeded in opposite sides of the draw and could therefore meet in the final.
Michael Judge, winner of The President’s Cup, lies not too far behind O’Donoghue while the likes of Colm Gilcreest, Josh Boileau and John Sutton are also in the draw.
