The two tournaments will run back-to-back from Monday to Friday at the iconic Blackpool Tower Circus Arena, with every ball televised live by Sky Sports.

The Betway World Seniors Championship is on March 2-3, bringing together legends of the sport past and present. Steve Davis will be defending the title against great names including Jimmy White, Dennis Taylor, Cliff Thorburn, John Parrott and Mark Williams.

Then the Betway Shoot-Out runs from March 4-6 and will see 64 of the world’s top stars – including Ronnie O’Sullivan, Judd Trump, Mark Selby and John Higgins – in a fast and furious frenzy of action on the table. Last man standing in the one-frame knock-out event wins £32,000.

World Snooker Chairman Barry Hearn said: “We are thrilled to welcome Betway on board for two events which have become firm favourites on the snooker calendar.

“The World Seniors is a fabulous celebration of snooker and great fun for the players and fans. And the Shoot-Out is all about dealing with the pressure of the shot clock and getting the crowd on your side. Both events make riveting viewing for fans lucky enough to have a seat in the arena, and those watching live on Sky.

“It’s going to be a fascinating week at one of Britain’s best venues for sporting events, and alongside the Betway team we’re look forward to enjoying every minute.”

Betway’s Alan Alger added: “Snooker continues to grow in popularity across the world and these two formats of the game resonate with fans of the sport, old and new. We’ve had much success in sponsoring darts and we’re thrilled to be taking our first step into snooker.”

Tickets and VIP packages for certain sessions of both events are still available, for details call 0871 620 7052 (calls cost 10p per minute plus network extras) or visit www.worldsnooker.com/tickets
