The National Championship weekend is under way at the Ivy Rooms in Carlow.
Several finals will be decided including the season champions at intermediate, junior, ladies, masters and billiards level.
However, the main event is of course the senior discipline where the last 16 are currently battling it out for the title.
Today the field is whittled down to four, before the semi-finals are played on Saturday and the final contested on Sunday over the best of 13 frames.
