The International Championship remains a big tournament that O’Sullivan hasn’t yet won.

The European Masters qualifiers run from September 26 to 28 with all 128 players requiring two victories in order to reach the final stages in Romania.

Subsequently, the International Championship qualifiers take place from September 29 to October 1, with players needing to win one match to make it to the final stages in China.

Five-time world champion O’Sullivan will be competing in professional tournaments in the UK for the first time since the World Championship in April.

In the European Masters he faces Chinese cueman Lyu Chenwei before taking on Blackpool’s James Cahill in the International Championship a few days later.

Meanwhile, young Irishman Josh Boileau will be seeking his maiden win as a professional as he takes on legend Jimmy White in his European Masters opener, while Ken Doherty tackles old foe Ali Carter.

Fellow Dublin Fergal O’Brien faces Dechawat Poomjaeng with the prospect of meeting world champion Mark Selby in the second round.

The Guild Hall is one of snooker’s most iconic venues having hosted many tournaments including the UK Championship.

The multi-table set up gives fans the chance to watch several big matches during the same session.

Tickets cost just £5 per day –  you can book now by visiting www.prestonguildhall.com/tickets.

The draws for both events are here and here.
