Gary Wilson has compiled a 147 break during the opening session of his first round World Championship qualifying match with Josh Boileau on Thursday.
The maximum effort came in the fourth frame of his encounter with the Irishman, putting him 4-0 up at the mid-session interval at Ponds Forge.
It marks only the third time in World Championship qualifying history that a 147 break has been constructed – with the other two both tallied by Robert Milkins.
Wilson’s 147 represents a record 13th of this season, bringing the total number of maximums made competitively up to 131.
Former China Open runner-up Wilson has endured a difficult campaign and is battling to remain inside the top 64 in the world rankings this week.
