Martin Gould claimed Group 6 of Championship League Snooker with victory over Judd Trump in Coventry on Friday.
The Englishman topped the round-robin phase with five wins from his six encounters, compiling a magnificent 147 break in his 3-2 defeat of Li Hang.
The huge feat, representing the 135th in professional competition, was the Pinner Potter’s first of his career.
Gould repeated his deciding frame success over Li in the semi-finals before the 2013 Championship League Snooker winner whitewashed Trump in the final.
The triumph sees the 36 year-old qualify for the CLS Winners’ Group in March – joining previous Group champions Zhou Yuelong, Mark Selby, Kyren Wilson, Ali Carter, and Mark Williams.
Trump, a record three-time champion of the event who has only failed to advance to the Winners’ Group three times in nine previous attempts, will have one final attempt in Group 7.
Li and the other semi-finalist from Group 6 Ricky Walden, along with fifth-placed Graeme Dott, will also be granted a final opportunity.
Michael White and Ben Woollaston, with only a single win apiece from the round-robin, are eliminated as defending champion John Higgins, Luca Brecel, and Robert Milkins are set to join the action next.
