Watch the World Snooker Championship on Facebook

For the third consecutive year, fans in Central and South America as well as and the Indian Sub-Continent will be able to watch the World Snooker Championship for free on Facebook Live.

Snooker’s biggest event runs from April 20 to May 6 and the entire tournament will be broadcast live on Facebook in nearly 40 countries.

Fans in those territories can watch the event for free by simply connecting to World Snooker’s Facebook page.

To watch the World Snooker Championship, if you are in one of the countries listed below, all you need to do is visit www.facebook.com/WorldSnooker .

Then ‘Like’ the page to get notifications about the live broadcast, as well as all the latest news and information about snooker.

The live broadcast includes coverage of both tables from the famous Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, as 32 players battle for the famous trophy.

The Betfred World Championship was broadcast on Facebook Live for the first time in 2017, and again in 2018.

World Snooker Chairman Barry Hearn said: “We are delighted to once again offer this chance to many millions of fans to watch our biggest tournament live and free on Facebook.”

“This is all about reaching out to people in territories where we don’t have television coverage and making sure they don’t miss out on what is one of the greatest event in sport.

“We are also determined to give access to our sport to a new and younger generation of fans and hopefully add to our vast core audience across the globe.

“Over the past two years we have seen impressive numbers of people watching on Facebook which gives us an indication of potential growth areas.

“We’re delighted to be working with Facebook on this initiative and hope fans enjoy the 17 days of sensational live action from the Crucible.”

Fans in other parts of the world will have other options available to watch the World Snooker Championship.

As usual, the action unfolds on the BBC across Ireland and the UK, while Eurosport has the broadcasting rights for the European continent.

In the USA and Canada, DAZN will also be airing the event for the first time online.
