The Kettering cueist reached the World Championship final in August, where he lost to Ronnie O’Sullivan.
Kyren Wilson played twelve frames in Group 24 and won twelve frames as he eased through to the last 32 of the Championship League on Saturday.
The 28 year-old’s round-robin group featured only three players after Daniel Wells was forced to withdraw following a positive COVID-19 test.
That meant a slight tweak in the format to require each player to face the other twice in the league play.
Wilson was never troubled as he orchestrated four consecutive 4-0 scorelines – twice against Duane Jones and two more times against Kuldesh Johal.
The Crucible runner-up additionally came close to compiling a maximum break but failed with his attempt on the penultimate red.
Nevertheless, Wilson coasted through to the second group phase and will feature alongside David Gilbert, Scott Donaldson, and Mark King at the end of the month in Group F.
Meanwhile, Mark Davis also qualified after taking seven points from a possible nine in Group 30.
After drawing 2-2 with Chang Bingyu, Davis whitewashed Jamie Curtis-Barrett and crucially repeated that scoreline to see off the challenge of former world number two Ali Carter.
Carter had been similarly unbeaten up until that point, but Davis compiled a brace of century breaks to send the “Captain” home.
With Kyren Wilson and Mark Davis advancing, there are only four more places available in the second group stage at the end of October.
Two more players will confirm their spots on Sunday with Joe Perry among those in action in Group 29 and Yan Bingtao set to take part in Group 20.
