The Englishman is bidding for a record-extending fourth title in the competition.
Judd Trump was the last man standing again as he emerged from Group 4 of the Championship League on Tuesday as the winner.
The world number one topped what was one of the tightest ever round-robin phases in the event’s history.
Trump’s record of four victories and two defeats proved enough to see him place in first place, qualifying for the play-off semi-finals alongside Mark Selby, Mark Williams, and Kyren Wilson.
The 31 year-old defied a brace of centuries from the latter in the last four to fight back from 2-0 down and pip the Kettering cueist in a decider with a marvellous 131 knock.
Trump subsequently whitewashed Selby in the final with the help of breaks of 102 and 62.
Advancing to the Winners’ Group of the Championship League later in the campaign, Judd Trump joins Zhou Yuelong, Graeme Dott, and John Higgins who have already progressed to the final phase.
There are three more spots up for grabs, two of which will be determined this week in Milton Keynes.
Selby, Wilson, Williams, and fifth-placed Barry Hawkins – who only missed out on a play-off position on frame difference this time – will get another chance when Group 5 takes place on Wednesday and Thursday.
The quartet will be joined by newcomers Ronnie O’Sullivan, Joe Perry, and Ali Carter.
Jack Lisowski and Tom Ford have exited proceedings after finishing at the bottom of Group 4.
After temporarily being staged as a ranking event earlier this campaign, this Championship League reverts back to its original non-ranking status with invites to players based on their ranking.
There are various prize-money bonuses on offer for the players, from winning frames, reaching the play-off stages of each group, and for achieving the highest break.
The overall winner will also be rewarded with an invite to the lucrative Champion of Champions at the end of the year.
