The 2024 German Masters final will be contested by Judd Trump and Si Jiahui at the Tempodrom in Berlin on Sunday.
The pair will vie for the £80,000 top prize in what is one of the most special occasions on the calendar.
While it may not provide the biggest cheque of the season, the spine-tingling atmosphere inside the spectacular arena is something money can’t buy.
Trump has experienced victory in the German capital city twice before and will participate in the final for the fourth time.
The 2020 and 2021 champion wasn’t quite at his best in his semi-final encounter, but he still had more than enough to see off the challenge of Sam Craigie.
In the German Masters final, Trump will face a player making his maiden appearance at this stage of a ranking tournament.
Si played excellently from 2-0 behind in his last-four clash with another former champion, Kyren Wilson.
The young Chinese competitor reeled off breaks of 138, 90, 55, and 54 to oust Wilson with a 6-3 scoreline.
Si made waves at last year’s World Championship by reaching the semi-finals at the Crucible Theatre on his debut.
The 21 year-old is going a long way to proving that run was no fluke, and that his presence at the latter stages of competitions may become more frequent.
Bidding for his first piece of silverware on the World Snooker Tour, Si will of course be the overwhelming underdog on Sunday, though.
By contrast, Trump is appearing in his sixth ranking event final of a stellar 2023/24 season in which he has already bagged three titles.
The world number two has lifted the Northern Ireland, English, and Wuhan Open trophies this term.
His consistency has already seen him pocket a £150,000 bonus this week for topping the BetVictor European Series standings.
Success this weekend would extend his career tally of ranking titles to 27, taking him just one behind legend Steve Davis on the all-time list.
Trump will have all the experience on his side, including a head-to-head record that reads 4-0 in his favour.
But the 34 year-old will be wary of the threat posed by Si, whose talent and rapid rise up the ranks isn’t too dissimilar to Trump’s many moons ago.
The German Masters final, then, promises to be a fascinating affair between two attacking exponents of the game.

I don’t think there’s really any way Si can win this. I’m hoping for a good match, but Trump outclasses him (and many others!) in every aspect of the game. It will take a very off Trump and and a very ‘on’ Jiahui for it to go any other way. Hoping for a close match nonetheless – both great players to watch at their craft.
Si can win if he reproduces the sort of form we witnessed at the Crucible in establishing a 14-5 lead over Luca Brecel. It was truly world class snooker over a sustained period on the biggest stage.
