Several up-and-coming talents of the game advanced to the third round of the Saudi Arabia Snooker Masters on Saturday in Riyadh.
Stan Moody overcame fellow teenager Liam Pullen 4-1, and there were victories elsewhere for tour rookies Bulcsú Révész, Artemijs Zizins, and Antoni Kowalski.
The latter produced the most convincing performance, comfortably overcoming He Guoqiang with a 4-0 scoreline.
Révész and Zizins needed all seven frames in their fixtures but eventually outlasted Mark Davis and Xu Si in 4-3 thrillers respectively.
Belgium’s Ben Mertens and Northern Ireland’s Robbie McGuigan also reached the next round at the Green Halls.
Plenty of experienced players extended their stay in the new tournament as well.

Hi David. Love your magazine. Is there any chance the match times could be listed as GMT please?
I have no idea what UTC time is!
That would be very helpful to an old codger like myself
Kind Regards
John
Hi, John. Thanks for reading! UTC (coordinated universal time) is effectively the same time as GMT. So UTC+1 is basically the same as BST. I use UTC because not all visitors to the site are from the UK. Hope that helps.
