The 2024 Mr Vegas World Seniors Snooker 900 takes place at the Connexin Live in Hull on Sunday.
Six players will vie for the title under the popular single-afternoon format that was launched on the World Seniors Snooker Tour last season.
World seniors champion Igor Figueiredo is in Group A alongside Ken Doherty – winner of the Snooker 900 in Goffs earlier this year – and Barry Pinches.
Group B features inaugural 900 champion Stephen Hendry, his old foe Jimmy White, and Malta’s Tony Drago.
How does the Snooker 900 work?
Every match in the 900 (apart from the final) is a single frame lasting a total of 15 minutes, with the player leading at the end of the allotted time awarded the victory.
There is a 20 seconds shot clock in operation, and for every shot played a ball must be potted or a cushion must be struck with the cueball or an object ball.
Similar to the rules used in Snooker Shoot Out, all fouls lead to cue ball in hand.
If the frame scores are tied at the end of the 15 minutes, a blue-ball shoot-out will determine the winner.
Following the round-robin play, the top two players from each group will advance to the semi-finals, where it will subsequently be a straight knockout format until the champion is crowned.
Draw and schedule
The 900 Snooker event in Hull begins at 1pm UTC+1 on Sunday and will be broadcast live on Channel 5 for UK and Irish viewers.
