The draw for the 2024 UK Championship qualifiers has been made with 128 players set to compete in Leicester.
There are 16 spots at the venue stages of this season’s first Triple Crown event still up for grabs.
The top 16 seeds have already been confirmed through the official world rankings list.
Ronnie O’Sullivan is the defending champion and will feature in the last 32 alongside the likes of world champion Kyren Wilson and world number one Judd Trump.
Former UK champions John Higgins, Mark Williams, Ding Junhui, Shaun Murphy, Mark Selby, and Mark Allen are safely in the main draw in addition to Luca Brecel, Ali Carter, Gary Wilson, Zhang Anda, and Si Jiahui.
By reaching the final of the recent International Championship, Chris Wakelin secured his maiden membership among the top 16 and with it automatic qualification for York.
Wuhan Open champion Xiao Guodong’s recent form has also seen the Chinese cueist join the elite bracket of the rankings for the first time in his career.
The latter pair’s rise has demoted a couple of high-profile players to the 2024 UK Championship qualifiers draw.
Despite his success in this season’s English Open, three-time UK champion Neil Robertson has dropped back out of the top 16 and is therefore forced to attend the preliminaries next week.
World Championship finalist Jak Jones will also participate in addition to the likes of Barry Hawkins, Ryan Day, Jack Lisowski, and Tom Ford.
As has been the case in recent seasons, a tiered qualifying format will be utilised to determine the 16 qualifiers.
The lowest seeds, including various amateur top-ups like 2021 UK champion Zhao Xintong who is making his way back following the end of his ban, enter in round one.
Jimmy White, who won the UK Championship title 32 years ago, is also in the lineup and will need to win four matches to qualify again.
The 32 highest seeds – those ranked from 17 to 48 in the world – enter in the third round and will need to win two matches in order to reach the main stages.
The 2024 UK Championship qualifiers run from November 16th to 21st at the Mattioli Arena.
Proceedings in York will commence on November 23rd with the final scheduled for December 1st and £250,000 being awarded to this year’s champion.
