The first official ranking event in snooker was way back in 1974, more than four decades ago.
Since then snooker has travelled around the globe but the majority of events have been staged in one country – I don’t think you need to be a genius to work out where that is.
In total, full ranking events – that is, excluding minor rankers such as PTCs – have been brought to 18 different nations so far.
Most are obvious, but a couple may surprise you.
