Snooker Quiz! A or B

The COVID-19 related announcements in the last week mean that there won’t be any snooker to watch over the next few months.

Fear not, because we love a snooker quiz here at SnookerHQ, especially when there are no tournaments to keep you all updated with.

Last Tuesday, the World Snooker Tour decided at the last minute to postpone the Tour Championship, in which a champion was due to be crowned on yesterday evening in Llandudno.

Instead, the final chapter of the Coral Series has been provisionally rescheduled for a new slot in July at the Venue Cymru.

More importantly, the World Snooker Championship subsequently bit the dust on Friday, with continued uncertainty as to whether the sport’s flagship event will be able to find a new date over the summer to be completed.

As there’s not only the 17 days of the World Championship itself to reallocate but the week-long qualifiers too, it’s sure to be a tricky period ahead for the World Snooker Tour as they attempt to complete a successful reshuffle.

It has brought an abrupt stop to a memorable 2019/20 snooker campaign in which world number one and world champion Judd Trump won a record six ranking titles.

There would have been many backing the world champion to break the “Curse of Crucible” and become a first-time champion that successfully defends the coveted crown in Sheffield – but those punts will have to wait a while at least.

Snooker hasn’t been alone with many sports affected by the COVID-19 outbreak, but helpful resource SBR is constantly updating its catalogue, letting you know which sports you can still bet on and watch over the coming weeks and months.

With many of you cooped up at home these days, it’s still important to produce some content here to enjoy too.

A quick look over at Sporcle, where you can find even more SnookerHQ quizzes, will inform you that a total of 96 has been published in the last few years.

Well, it’s pretty safe to say that we’ll be hitting the century mark pretty soon as we find ways to keep ourselves entertained in a sportless world.

We’ve had plenty of themed teasers – from the Snooker Trivia series of speed testers, to specials by decade, tournament, and player.

It’s time to fire out a new type of snooker quiz, and it’s a pretty straightforward one as it happens.

Just as there’s 15 reds at the start of a frame, here you’ll have 15 questions from which you’ll be given just two choices each.

All you have to do is choose the correct option, but with one minor additional challenge to overcome.

If you get a question wrong it ends the quiz, so think very carefully before you make your decision, or you might have to go all the way back to the beginning.

Oh, and there’s a timer because, well, there’s always a timer.
