David Gilbert, who will battle Liang Wenbo, and 2019 Snooker Shoot Out winner Thepchaiya Un-Nooh are also still in with a shot of glory.
The latter entertains the unheralded Hamim Hussain in his third match of this year’s random draw – one of six amateur top-ups among the remaining contenders.
Defending champion Michael Holt bowed out on Saturday, meanwhile, with a 52-21 second-round defeat to Matthew Stevens.
Stevens encounters Robert Milkins with a berth in the last 16 at stake, and there are several other interesting fixtures including Noppon Saengkham’s duel with veteran Ken Doherty.
Michael White, the champion six years ago, faces Louis Heathcote while 2013 Snooker Shoot Out winner Martin Gould takes on last year’s runner-up Zhou Yuelong.
As usual, a mixture of form and luck will be needed in order to be the last man standing come Sunday night.

What is the Snooker Shoot Out?
Each match lasts only one ten-minute frame, with a 15-second shot clock in operation for the first five minutes and a 10-second shot clock required for the remaining time.
Players lag to determine who breaks off, every shot must result in a ball hitting a cushion or being potted, and there is ball-in-hand for any foul committed.
A permanent fixture on the Main Tour schedule since 2011, no current top-16 player has ever emerged as the winner.
