Victory for Mostafa Dorgham in the 2023 African Snooker Championship means he becomes the last player to join the main tour for the upcoming season.
The 2023/24 campaign launches on Monday with the start of the ranking event version of the Championship League.
Egypt’s Dorgham won’t be involved in that competition but will have lucrative opportunities to participate in other events on the World Snooker Tour later this term.
The 27 year-old beat countryman Mohamed Khairy 5-2 to claim the African title this week in Morocco.
His reward is a two-year card, marking his first opportunity to compete as a professional alongside the likes of world number one Ronnie O’Sullivan and world champion Luca Brecel.
In total, there will be 130 professional players on the main tour during the 2023/24 snooker season.
The top 64 on the official world ranking list following the conclusion of the last campaign automatically kept their spots for another year.
Those below that cut-off point who are only entering the second year of their card will return, while the top four cueists on the one-year ranking list who failed to meet either criteria have received fresh two-year cards.
The remaining tickets have been mostly allocated through Q School and various international amateur events held across the world.
