Reanne Evans captured the 2024 Women’s Masters title at the weekend after securing a dramatic 4-3 victory over Mink Nutcharut in the final in London.
The Englishwoman’s success ended a drought – by her standards at least – of over a year since she last collected silverware on the women’s circuit.
The title-deciding showdown ebbed one way and then the other with both finalists enjoying leads but never more than a frame’s difference between them.
Women’s world number one Nutcharut led 2-1 but saw her opponent move to within the brink of glory by taking the subsequent two frames.
A break of 60 forced a deciding frame, but 39 year-old Evans duly did enough and clinched a seventh career Women’s Masters glory.
“Thank you for all the messages,” Reanne Evans wrote on social media platform Bluesky as she acknowledged the support of her fans.
“Back to winning ways finally. [It’s] been a long time, was able to cue a little more this weekend.”
“[I] played okay in patches and had some good wins against the talented young guns.”
Evans, who also thanked coach Lee Walker for help with her game, overcame the in-form Bai Yulu in the semi-finals with a 4-2 scoreline.
Nutcharut had beaten rival Ng On Yee by the same margin in the other last-four clash but fell just short of securing a second title on the trot.
Evans becomes the fourth different winner of the 2024/25 snooker season on the World Women’s Snooker Tour, joining Nutcharut, Ng, and Bai on the roll of honour for the term so far.
The WSF Women’s Championship is the next tournament on the calendar, scheduled for January 18-23 in Morocco.

It’s a record-extending 11th Masters title for Evans and her 59th ranking success on the Women’s Tour.
According to WWS, it’s 7. I don’t think they regard the earlier Wytech Masters tournament as the same.
I actually hadn’t noticed you’d put 7. I only wrote that based on what I’d seen on Snooker.org
Nice win for Evans, beating two of the most recent women’s world champions is a nice statement of her continuing relevance around the top echelon of the women’s game. Also, she will need a main tour card again after this season (assuming she doesn’t decide to retire as a full time pro or some such situation.) and it seems completely unlikely that she can retain her place, or qualify through Q school, so she will be needing the best of runs on the women’s tour to put herself in prime position to snaffle a new main tour card via the women’s tour.
