List of results as Wuhan Open qualifiers conclude

There were eight more results in the Wuhan Open qualifiers as the preliminary stage reached its climax on Tuesday in Leicester.

In what was already billed as one of the fixtures of the round of 128, the match between Hossein Vafaei and Marco Fu delivered.

Fu secured one of his best wins for a while – the former world number five overcoming the talented Iranian in a tight contest that lasted the distance.

John Higgins had a much easier time of it with the Scot comfortably beating Dylan Emery 5-1, compiling a high break of 115.

There were positive results elsewhere in the Wuhan Open qualifiers for former ranking event winners Michael White and Jordan Brown.

White ousted fellow Welshman Andrew Pagett 5-3 while former Welsh Open champion Brown defeated Himanshu Jain.

There was disappointment, however, for Ricky Walden – three times a ranking event winner in China – who was downed 5-3 by Ian Burns.

Jimmy White’s fans had little to cheer about as well with the world seniors snooker champion suffering a 5-1 reverse against Liam Highfield.

Mark Davis and Sam Craigie were the other two players to make it through courtesy of respective victories over Liam Graham and Peng Yisong.

The venue stages of the Wuhan Open, which boasts a prize fund of £700,000 and a winner’s share worth £140,000, take place from October 9th to 15th in China.
